Me, Sinead and Emily had loads of fun at Santry in April. We got medals, ran, jumped, threw, the lot! But most importantly, we made a true bond with our best pal, Papa.

Swim a mile
Last Wednesday we went to the National Aquatic Center in Blanchardstown. We went in aid of the Ian Daly Foundation, and all the money fund raised went to Barretstown and Our Lady's Children Hospital. We left first thing in the morning and got the bus with the LCVP class. When we got there Brian Daly, Ian's dad, explained what was going to happen and then we went and got changed.
I was in a group with 7 other people so when we finished our 10 lengths we were able to get out. We waited for everyone to finish, because some people wanted to do the mile on their own for that's what took up most of the time. When we were all finished swimming we got a group photo and then went and had showers. When everyone was ready we got back on the buses and went to Blanch for 2 hours.
When we got there me and my friends went to McDonalds to get lunch, and then after we were walking around for a bit until we got to Gino's and got ice-cream. We had a look in Build-a-Bear and we got a few looks was so funny hahaha. After we sat at the fountain for a while and just talked. We went back to the bus and came home.

Hip Hop
On the 27th of March we started doing hip hop dancing for our TY Graduation night. A girl, Karen, came into the school to us to teach us a dance to 'Break Free' by Ariana Grande. We do it for the first two classes after break on a Friday. Our year was split into 2 groups; Ariel and half of my class, Belle, and then Aurora with the second half of Belle. Ariel and half of Belle dances on Thursday, then Aurora and the other half of Belle dances on Friday.
The first week we got a good but of the dance covered. It's an easy enough dance to learn and people seemed to catch along pretty quick. When she came into the class first, she showed us a video of a school she had just taught the same dance to. We did a warm up and got straight into the dance.
For 2 weeks after that class we had our Easter break so we had to try remember it for when we went back. When we had class again after Easter, most people remembered it. In that class Sinead Lee and Anna Hepple had the school camera and they were taking pictures of all of us! It was so embarrassing but it was pretty funny at the same time.
Last week there wasn't a lot of people at the danced class because a lot of our year was at Punchestown, so we are going to have to finish the dance tomorrow for our Graduation!

Selma
We went to Vue Cinema in Liffey Valley on Tuesday to go and see the movie "Selma" about Martin Luther King as part of our history. We left school at about 12:15 with our history teachers and got the bus up to Liffey Valley. It was so awkward on the way up because there was so many of us on the bus that when it was going up the hill it was going about 5 km/h! It was so funny hahaha!
When we finally got there we went straight to the cinema and got our food and went straight to the screen. The movie was about 2 hours long. It was so good! It was based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting right marches led by James Bevel, Hosea Williams, Martin Luther King and John Lewis. It was such a sad movie, even Eve Poole was crying! Never thought I'd see the day :)))))
We left the cinema straight after the movie ended, which was pretty sad because I wanted some Chinese food... But anyway be grand! On the bus back we were playing our music through the speaker on the bus and Mr. Kennedy was even bopping along to it, it was great! When we got back we had to go to the hall for about 15/20 minutes before we went home. It was a really good day!

Tommy Bowe :))))
This week we went to Carton House to see the Vanishing Art Exhibition with the art teachers, but instead it turned into stalking the Irish Rugby Team! My friends and myself went looking at the sculptures around Carton, and we were by the river when a man came over to us and told us that the Rugby team were training and we all went running up the road screaming to go see them. When we saw them first they were in the gym training so we couldn't get pictures with them or talk to them. So what some people did was they went up to the window and took pictures of them. Anna told us that Johnny Sexton was down the road so I sprinted down but when we got there he was already gone. I sat there with Jane and Pia for a while when Tommy Bowe came out! Everyone screamed and tried to get a picture with him and some people got his autograph! The poor lad was probably terrified! Security had to come out to us 2 or 3 times to get us away! As soon as we left we saw the whole team come out so our bus driver drove around the car park to drive by them to get a picture! One of the lads put his thumb up and everyone screamed hahahah! Best trip by far :)))))))
